When I heard about this butter London Patent Gel Basecoat and Topcoat I was intrigued. Does it hold up to its claims? Click more to see my review!
While at Nordstrom recently I was able to talk to a butter London rep about the Patent Gel Basecoat and Topcoat and she gave me a manicure using this unique system. I love the thought of getting gel manicures – but hate how rough the process is on my nails! I got one once and never again, my nails were just so damaged after. Also, curing in a UV light and then soaking in 100% acetone to get off? No thank you.
The butter London system is different than any other at home “gel” manicures on the market. No UV light is needed and you can use any polish you already own! That means you can utilize the extensive nail polish collection I know you have. I ended up with butter London Calypso Coral, which is such a spring-y shade and I love it. This system is supposed to give you a mani that lasts for a week.
My nails were super shiny and very hard. So far so good!
I’ve lost an entire thumb 🙁
As you can see I already have some tip-wear and I’ve lost an entire thumb. I’m off of work right now, so I’m not even doing any heavy typing or work with my hands. Not a great start…
My nails are looking worn and old. Overall, I loved the idea of this at home gel mani kit, but not so much the execution. I’ve had much better lasting manicures with my trusty Seche Vite top coat. So this didn’t work for me. Maybe it will work better with the chemistry on your nails!
